Name

History Uncorked: The Year of the Censure

Description

Join former Director of the Papers of Andrew Jackson, Dan Feller, as he discusses Andrew Jackson’s 1834 – a true headache of a year for the 7th President. In addition to being censured by the United States Senate, Jackson fought to destroy the federally chartered Bank of the United States, had a looming confrontation with Cherokee Natives, encountered lurid scandals in the Post Office Department, faced assassination threats, AND his Tennessee home caught on fire.

Tickets are $10 for Hermitage members and $15 for the general public.

A portion of all sales will support the Andrew Jackson Foundation’s mission to preserve the home place of Andrew Jackson, create learning opportunities and inspire informed citizenship.
