Home School Day
Christmas at The Hermitage
Americans celebrate holidays to share traditions and values. But different groups of people celebrate the same holiday differently, and this reflects larger differences in American society. For Americans of Andrew Jackson’s day, Christmas games, crafts, foods and decorations looked vastly different between the white slaveholding class and enslaved African-Americans. Join us for games, crafts, hot chocolate and special tours as we compare and contrast Christmas at The Hermitage!
Show us your best holiday masks! The Hermitage is following careful cleaning and social distancing practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including hand sanitizer stations, social distancing and requiring masks for staff and visitors.
